Ligament Reconstruction in Patients Operated Arthroscopically with Bone-Patellar Bone Graft Using Lysholm Score

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: To assess the mean Lysholm score after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction with a bone-patellar tendon-bone graft.
 Study Design: Prospective longitudinal study.
Place and Duration of Study: Department Orthopaedic, Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar Pakistan, from Oct 2020 to Apr 2021.
Methodology: Arthroscopic graft was performed in 70 patients. Baseline characteristics were recorded, patients followed up for six months. Functional outcome determined using score.
Results: The age 32.38±11.83 years. majority, 59(84.3%) males. Of patients, 36(51.4%) had right knee involved. at baseline 50.46±6.93. At months, 85.49±9.05 difference found be statistically significant (p<0.001) paired t-test.
Conclusion: Significant change months observed study sample. Reconstructing bone-patellar-tendon bone improved and, thus, functional outcome. Keywords: (ACL); Arthroscopy, Bone-patellar tendon-bone, score.

Anterior Cruciate Reconstruction Using Bone-patellar Ligament – Bone Autograft

Background: Injuries to ligaments of knee are common in our society especially in the young athletes and sports men participating in football, volleyball, rugby etc. Tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) leads to knee instability which leads to inability to participate in sports. In the none athletes ACL injury tends to decline in their level of daily activity. This is a study of ACL te...

Arthroscopically assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft without wound drainage: short- to middle-term outcome

INTRODUCTION Several studies have suggested that anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) without wound drainage has no impact on long-term follow-up. AIM To investigate a prospective patient series as measured by the patient-administered disease-specific questionnaire Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS). MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included 101 consecutive patien...

Immediate post-operative pain in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery with bone patellar tendon bone graft versus hamstring graft

BACKGROUND Pain in the immediate post-operative period after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, apart from an unpleasant experience for the patient, can act as a barrier for static quadriceps contractions and optimum execution of the initial rehabilitation protocol resulting in slow recovery and a later return to full function for a sportsperson. There is no report in the literature comp...

Prevention of graft-tunnel mismatch during anatomical anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using a bone-patellar tendon-bone graft.

Graft-tunnel mismatch of the bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) graft is a major concern during anatomical anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction if the femoral tunnel is positioned using a far medial portal technique, as the femoral tunnel tends to be shorter compared with that positioned using a transtibial portal technique. This study describes an accurate method of calculating the id...

press-fit femoral fixation in acl reconstruction using bone-patellar tendon-bone graft

bone-patellar tendon auto graft is probably the most widely used graft for acl reconstruction. several methods for graft fixation have been described. to avoid intra-articular hardware we adopt biological fixation with a femoral trapezoidal press-fit fixation. a prospective study was performed on 30 consecutive active people who underwent acl reconstruction with this technique by two surgeons b...
